PlainStats

Privacy policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

PlainStats is a free NFL contracts and stats site for fans. This page explains what information the site handles and the choices you have. You do not need an account to use it, and the site never asks for your name.

What stays on your device

PlainStats saves your favorite team, simulator moves, tab and filter choices and your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. This information stays on your device and is not sent to PlainStats. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Visit counts (analytics)

If you click Accept on the cookie notice, the site loads Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and show which pages are popular. IP addresses are anonymized. If you click Decline, or never answer, Google Analytics does not run and everything else still works.

PlainStats also uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and does not build a profile of you. It records the page, the site you came from and rough device and country information.

Advertising

PlainStats may show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Ads are personalized only if you accept cookies; otherwise the site asks Google for non-personalized ads. You can manage personalized ads in Google Ad Settings or opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info.

Newsletter

The Cap Sheet sign-up form is provided by beehiiv. If you subscribe, your email address is handled by beehiiv under its own privacy policy, and we use it only to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email.

Images and other third parties

Team logos and player photos load from ESPN's image servers, so ESPN can see your IP address and browser details when those images load. The site asks your browser not to send a referrer. Adding ?plain=1 to any page address turns images off. Text fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google can also see your IP address when they load. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs such as IP address, browser and page requested.

Suggesting a fix and contacting us

The "Suggest a fix" link opens a Google Form. Google collects what you type there (and your email address only if you choose to give it), under Google's own privacy policy. We use it only to correct the site and, if you left an address, to reply. You can also email us instead.

Your choices and rights

PlainStats does not sell your personal information. You can change your cookie choice by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the notice back. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. Email info@plainstatsnfl.com and we will respond.

Children

PlainStats is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes
